As a Community RGN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in their homes or community settings. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective treatment and support for patients with various medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
Community Medication Administration: Administer oral, insulin, subcutaneous (SC), and intramuscular (IM) medications safely and effectively.
Palliative Care: Provide compassionate palliative care, including managing syringe drivers and ensuring symptom control for end-of-life patients.
Catheterisation: Perform catheterisations for male, suprapubic, and female patients.
IV Administration & Wound Care: Deliver IV therapy and manage leg ulcer care to promote healing and prevent complications.
Doppler Training & CHC Assessments (Preferred): While not essential, experience with Doppler assessments and Continuing Healthcare (CHC) assessments is highly desirable.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
A valid NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
Proven experience working in a community healthcare setting.
Competence in medication administration, palliative care, catheterisation, IV therapy, and wound management.
Strong assessment and decision-making skills.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
A valid UK driving license (preferred for community visits).
